Starbury FAQs
What is the Starbury Collection?
The Starbury™ Collection is a line of lifestyle and athletic clothes and sneakers created by NBA® star Stephon Marbury, that launched the summer of 2006 exclusively at Steve & Barry's® stores across the country.

Growing up in a large family, Steph knows first-hand the pressure that kids and parents feel to spend top dollar on the latest merchandise from the top brands. Now in a position to do something about it, he's introduced the Starbury Collection to help eliminate that pressure by bringing high quality jeans, jackets, hoodies, t-shirts, hats, sneakers and more to shoppers at astonishing low prices.

Perhaps nothing reflects the incredible value of the Collection like Steph's new on-court sneaker, the Starbury II. It's a high performance basketball shoe that Steph wears during all of his NBA® games. He first started wearing the Starbury II on March 27th when his New York Knicks® played the Orlando Magic®. Until then, he wore the Starbury One. Cut either of these two shoes in half, and you'd see they are similar in construction and materials as the most expensive basketball sneakers offered by other top brands and retailers. In fact, ABC's 20/20® did just that as part of a March 23, 2007 segment about Starbury. In this segment, a professor of footwear design at the Parsons School of Design in New York City did an extensive test of Starbury sneakers and models from another major brand that retails for over $150 and determined there was no difference in the quality of design and materials.

The Starbury II and hundreds of other new Starbury sneakers and clothing were introduced as part of the Starbury Spring Collection on April 1st at Steve & Barry's stores nationwide.

Is it true that Ben Wallace of the Chicago Bulls® is now on Team Starbury?
Yes. Beginning March 29th, "Big Ben" Wallace joined Team Starbury. Having grown up the 10th of 11 children in a small town in Alabama, Ben believes in what the Starbury Movement is all about. For the remainder of the current NBA® season, the four-time NBA® Defensive Player of the Year and four-time All Star will wear Steph's new on-court shoe, the Starbury II. We are currently designing Ben's own signature shoe, the Big Ben, which will be launched as part of the Starbury Collection this fall and available exclusively at Steve & Barry's stores with other Big Ben Wallace merchandise.

What sizes are available for the Starbury II?
The Starbury II is available in both high top and low top versions for men, women, boys and girls. Available sizes are 1.5 to 15 for boys and men, and 1.5 to 10 for girls and women.

What sizes are available for the Starbury One?
The Starbury I is available only in men's sizes: 6-15 (6-12 is available in half and whole sizes and 12-15 is in whole sizes only).

What are the prices of Starbury Collection merchandise?
The Starbury II (and most all footwear in the Starbury Collection) is priced at just $8.98 or less*, the lowest price ever for a high-performance sneaker.

Where can I see these sneakers?
Check out www.starbury.com to view items in our Starbury Collection.

Can you tell me more about the Starbury II and other new Starbury sneakers?
The Starbury II found on Steve & Barry’s shelves will be identical to those Marbury will wear during NBA® games. Incorporating an aggressive and sleek design, the Starbury II carries on the tradition of the Starbury One by providing the same technical features for comfort, stability and durability found in basketball sneakers sold by the nation’s top brands for $100 to $200, yet with a price tag of just $8.98*. Improvements made to Marbury’s signature shoe include the addition of a full-width shank for stiffness and arch support, and an external EVA heel cup for improved fit and stability.

Like the Starbury One, the Starbury II was designed by leading athletic gear design firm Rocketfish, perhaps best known for providing high performance basketball sneaker concepts to Nike®, Reebok®, and Converse®. Rocketfish worked closely with Marbury and Steve & Barry’s to create the Starbury II, and Starbury Team shoe, to ensure it delivers all the comfort and stability required for professional basketball players and recreational ballers alike.

All footwear in the Starbury Collection is priced at $8.98 or less*. Other highlights of the Starbury Collection spring 2007 line expansion include:
Starbury Team, a high top basketball sneaker that offers dynamic and aggressive styling and all the performance characteristics of other high-end basketball shoes. The Starbury Team comes in five men’s and five boys’ color ways.

Starbury SXM Trainer, a high performance skateboarder shoe with a specially designed lug configuration grip system and heel tech piece for superior grip and handling, durability and kick control. The Starbury SXM Trainer comes in three men’s and two boys’ color ways.

Starbury Crossover LE, a classically styled court shoe featuring an all patent action leather three-tone upper and cup outsole with stitch-down construction, plus a color-coordinated cotton lace that incorporates a steel-stamped embellishment. The Starbury Crossover LE comes in six men’s and two women’s color ways.

Starbury Cyclone II, a classic retro jogger that improves upon the styling and construction of the original Cyclone introduced as part of the Starbury Collection last summer. A heel tech piece, an EVA sock liner with a visaterry cover and a shock absorption insert in the heel, and a double-layered mesh upper deliver enhanced comfort and stability. The Starbury Cyclone II comes in four men’s color ways.

Starbury Surfside, a retro court shoe with an all suede upper, cup outsole with stitch-down construction and a translucent sole plate with outsized Starbury graphic backing. The Starbury Surfside comes in six men’s color ways and one women’s color way.

Starbury Bowery, an extremely lightweight casual shoe with a rubber outsole and texture grip sole plate. The Starbury Bowery comes in five men’s color ways and one women’s color way.

Starbury Tornado, a lightweight women’s shoe. Its compression-molded and rubber islands midsole/outsole unit, geometric lug configuration, breathable mesh upper, and fashion forward, tri-color combinations make the Starbury Tornado ideal for yoga or other gym activities. It comes in three women’s color ways.

Can I purchase Starbury Collection merchandise on the web?
Starbury Collection clothes and sneakers are only available at the over 250 Steve & Barry's stores located in shopping malls throughout the country. Check our store locator for a list of stores near you.

Is there a limit on the number of Starbury shoes I can purchase?
Due to extremely limited supply and to be fair to all customers, Starbury footwear is limited to ten (10) pairs per person, per day.

NBA®, ABC, 20/20, Parsons School of Design, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, Nike®, Reebok®, and Converse® are the trademarks of their respective owners. The BITTEN collection was designed for women of all ages and sizes, with a full size range from XS-XXL in tops, 0-22 in bottoms, and 5-11 in shoes.

Where does the name BITTEN come from?
The name BITTEN was driven by Sarah Jessica Parker as the result of her reaction when she was first introduced to Steve & Barry's. dear FAQs
What is dear™?
dear is first-ever apparel line launched by comedic actress and Hollywood “it” girl Amanda Bynes, to be sold exclusively at Steve & Barry’s stores nationwide beginning August 16th. Every piece in the line is priced at $8.98 or less.

Can you describe the collection?
The dear brand delivers the cost-conscious values of Steve & Barry’s to a new demographic by catering to a younger woman who wants to be stylish on a budget.

The dear collection will offer more than 120 pieces of clothing including denim jeans, casual pants, dresses, fitted polos, and graphic hoodies at launch. 28 accessory styles including shoes, hats, bags, belts and over 70 pieces of jewelry are also included in the collection. Outerwear including down vests and jackets will also be introduced.

Why did Amanda Bynes choose to partner with Steve & Barry’s?
Amanda decided to partner with Steve & Barry’s after learning of the company’s philosophy – to offer high quality merchandise at the lowest prices possible, while helping change the mindset that people have to spend a lot for great clothes.

It’s an important message for teens to know that they don’t need to spend a fortune on clothes to look great and have the confidence that goes along with that.
The items in the dear collection were created so girls can shop for a whole wardrobe – with plenty of pieces to mix and match - and still have money left to go and show off their cute new looks.

How are you able to make the dear merchandise so inexpensive?
Steve & Barry’s has revolutionized retailing by eliminating costs from every aspect of the business, including marketing, production, store operations and corporate expenses. For example, the company relies on word of mouth marketing vs. traditional advertising, analyzes the smallest details such as how to pack a truck to the most efficient ways possible, sources in non-traditional regions of the world, and eliminates luxuries other businesses take for granted.

Where is the merchandise in the dear line produced?
We have manufacturing relationships with vendors all over the world, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Africa, China and other regions.

What are your policies in regards to fair labor policies?
We have a very strict Foreign Sourcing Policy. More importantly, firmly embedded in our history and culture is a deep commitment to legal compliance and ethical business practices.

Where does the dear name come from?
The dear collection reflects Amanda’s personal sense of style and comfort – casual, fun items of clothing every girl will love to live in. Amanda created pieces for girls to hold ‘dear’ for years to come.

How will dear be merchandised in Steve & Barry’s stores?
dear will be merchandised in a store-within-store environment featuring specially designed fixtures, signage packages, and plasma monitors running segments of a video documentary on Amanda’s vision for the line.
